Projects, such as the MPI Koksijde project, do not always have to be very large to save on energy costs.

After a study by Voltron®, it was decided to replace all old lighting fixtures to LED and where possible in a 1 to 1 ratio to keep the total costs under control.
After installation we can say that the saving is considerable and there is a direct return after relighting.

Some concrete figures:
In the refectory:
• Old situation: less than 100 lux on average, 2.1Kw consumption on an annual basis (with 24 luminaires).
• New situation: more than 202 lux on average, 0.5 kW consumption on an annual basis (with only 12 LED luminaires).
• Conclusion: 75% savings and a doubling in light level.

In the school corridors:
• Old situation: less than 100 lux on average, 3.6 kW consumption on an annual basis (with 42 luminaires).
• New situation, more than 250 lux on average, 1.7 kW consumption on an annual basis (with 42 LED fixtures).
• Conclusion: 52% savings and more than doubling in light level.

For this relighting, the old light fixtures were replaced by LED fixtures of Voltron® type 'The Flat Hanger 120x30' (product reference: TFH-120x30-DW-24V-DIM) and these fixtures were mounted in the special 120x30 surface-mounted box for mounting against the ceilings.
